Government and Politics

Teaching focuses on examination success. This is achieved through the acquisition of knowledge, examination technique and thinking skills. The teachers are experts in their respective fields; they teach their students the information they need in the form that they need it.

Government and Politics

Government and Politics explores the UK political system, democracy and how politics influences society. The course is taught over 4 units each unit covers the following topics;

Unit 1:  People and Politics
Unit 2: Governing the UK
Unit 3: Key themes in Political Analysis
Unit 4: Extended themes in Political analysis

Students choose this subject as they want to develop an understanding of how political systems operate.

The subject is taught using group discussions and essay writing workshops and presentations. Students will learn how to write structured essays and how to evaluate political theories.
